The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) and the Nationwide Caterers Association (NCASS) have partnered to develop a programme to meet demand from traders for both background sarnies knowledge about sustainability and practical ways of making an impact. And traders at The World Street Food Festival have committed to being the first to complete the new online programme.
Sustainability is not just good for the environment but good for business. From fuel efficiency to sustainable fish we can all do more. That is why we went to the experts to develop the course, the Sustainable Restaurant Association, as they have led the way in delivering sustainability for other sectors of the catering industry.
Street food and mobile catering has really taken off over the last couple of years and we are already working with some of the best vendors. We know consumers are looking to restaurants to match their values and we are helping restaurants to do that. The training we have developed sarnies with NCASS means that vendors will be better equipped to meet their customers sarnies needs too.
The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) is a national, not-for-profit sarnies membership organisation providing 1000 restaurants with expert sustainability advice. The SRA helps member sarnies restaurants source food more sustainably, manage resources more efficiently and work more closely with their community. Members enjoy the economic benefits of greater sustainability and the SRA promotes their activities to consumers.
NCASS is a government recognised trade association dedicated to helping catering companies in the UK to stay both profitable and legally compliant. The association was originally sarnies set up by catering companies looking to pool their experience, resources & knowledge to get a better deal for caterers. Over the past thirty years the association has grown to provide vital assistance and support to help its members to get work, train their staff, adhere to changing legislation.
